Foothills Conservancy Secures Catawba Falls Access

They stocking in 4 places on the campground some over 7 inches long. They will return each month date is secret. It looks like they are stocking every month the last or first week of the month. It has been great fishing here.

Catawba Falls Campground now Hatchery-Supported Trout Waters

When the new regulations for the 2004-2005 fishing season take effect on July 1, four new waters will be designated as Public Mountain Trout Waters and further classified as Hatchery-Supported Trout Waters:

• Catawba River in Burke County – the portion of the river from Muddy Creek to the City of Morganton water intake dam
• Cane Creek in Henderson County – the section from SR 1551 bridge to the US 25 bridge
• Clear Creek in Henderson County – the section from SR 1591 bridge at Jack Mountain Lane to SR 1572
• Catawba River in McDowell County – the section from Catawba Falls Campground to Old Fort Recreation Park
